The Grassroots Trust Limited Board of Directors have overall responsibility for governance of the Company. They bring strong business acumen and experience to the Board table ensuring Grassroots Trust Limited operates as a compliant and responsible industry leader.
Martin Bradley has been the Chairman of Grassroots Trust since 2004, and from 1 April 2020 was appointed as the full time Executive Chairman. Martin was a practising lawyer for 29 years and was a partner at the Hamilton based law firm Norris Ward McKinnon. Martin is a member of the NZ Cricket Players Association having played First Class Cricket for Auckland; and was the former Chairman of Northern Districts Cricket Association. He is also a keen rugby and racing enthusiast.
Kevin Burgess has been a pharmacist for 40 years and is co-owner of three pharmacies in Cambridge. Kevin has had a long and active involvement within the Cambridge community, serving on both sporting and community organisations. Kevin is also on the Board of Trustees for Cambridge Resthaven and co-founder of Perago Sports Trust. He has been a Grassroots Trustee since 2005.
Jeremy is the Managing Director of Lodge Real Estate in Hamilton, as well as a Director of Cambridge Real Estate. He is also a Board Member of NZ Realtors Ltd and was a former parent representative on the Waikato Diocesan School for Girls Board of Trustees. Jeremy is a keen supporter of all sport particularly rugby and netball and still actively plays tennis and squash.
Fraser is the Managing Partner of BDO Tauranga and a Board member of BDO New Zealand. BDO is an international chartered accountancy and business advisory network. Fraser has over 25 years of business and governance experience including having past directorship positions on a regional economic development agency, and was Secretary of the Tauranga Energy Consumer Trust (‘TECT’). He is a former Board member of Northern Districts Cricket Association and a Trustee of the Bay Oval Trust. He enjoys a strong association within the charitable, sporting, school and education and not for profit sectors in both a professional business and personal capacity.
Patrick is the former Chief Country Officer for Deutsche Bank New Zealand and has over 20 year’s investment banking experience in Europe, Australia and New Zealand. In that time he held a number of governance and board roles. Patrick is currently a Director of several private companies, and also a Chartered Accountant. Patrick is a former first class cricketer, life member of the NZ Cricket Players Association, Trustee of Cornwall Cricket Development Foundation, and an enthusiastic supporter of all sports.
John grew up in the Hawkes Bay and studied in Wellington. He is a partner at Brookfields Lawyers in Auckland with more than 20 years’ experience in alcohol licensing, environmental and local government law. He was a former Board member of Brookfields Lawyers. He is a member of the Resource Management Law Association and is the co-author of the Laws of New Zealand Liquor Law text. John is involved in junior sport having coached both rugby and touch rugby and managed junior tennis. He retains a keen interest in surf lifesaving having won national titles as a junior. His current sporting and cultural endeavours are largely focused on supporting the pursuits of his three children.
